NATURAL DYEING is an eco-friendly method of dyeing which creates unique textile patterns for use in your artistic creations Paper and Fabric

WHAT IS THIS ALL ABOUT?

Participants will use collected oxidised iron, such as wire, bolts and other widgets scavenged from your yard or old sheds to create deep orange tones on fabric and paper so that you can use in all manner of ways in your next art project. You’ll learn how to make the rust patterns on different textiles become permanent.

WHAT IS INCLUDED?

  • An assortment of fabric and papers with different textures.
  • Some rusted metal pieces for you to use.
  • Loan of equipment for use in the process
  • Personal Protective Equipment (gloves)
  • Everything you need to do the rust dyeing exercise

WHAT DO I NEED TO BRING?

You can bring along rusted objects including nuts, bolts, wire or old equipment.

An old icecream container or bucket with lid to take home projects.

Wear comfortable (old) clothes
