Learn how to set up, design & print a small edition reduction linocut and the basics about tools and how to edition their prints.

MULTI COLOUR/REDUCTION LINOCUT AND PRINTING SMALL EDITION.

Arrive at 10.45am for introductions, cuppa and set up for 11.00am sharp start. Your facilitator, Jenny Bourne, is an artist printmaker and professional screen printer based in Port Augusta.

What Will I learn?

1. Designing for multi-layer printing, set up, registration, design transfer.

2. Tool selection and maintenance, honing/stropping your tools.

3. Paper preparation, lino-cutting tips and tricks.

4. Inking printing tips and considerations.

How Will I learn?

Your experienced facilitator will guide you through 8 steps of developing your design, transferring it, registration for block and paper, transfer your mirror image design, watch a demonstration of sharpening tools, cut a first layer in lino, prepare your paper, proof and print first layer of colour, cut the block further to leave relief areas for second layer, practice printing final layer.

To summarise there will be time for discussion, questions, editioning and signing completed prints.

What is supplied? What do I bring?

You’ll be supplied with: All inks, brushes, paper, masking tape and loan equipment will be but please byo if you have them.

Artists with their own tools, Members please let Cheryl know that you will bring your own. ^ ****

Artists bring apron, wear closed shoes, sketch and notebooks, sharpie, biro, brush pen, chinagraph pencil if you have one, fine paint brush and source reference (a photograph or sketch to transfer). If you have tracing paper and/ carbon paper for transferring your design, please BYO.
