SCARECROW Challenge Fun Day – 1. Create your own at home, bring in & build on frames provided. On Sale Until 13/4/23

GATES OPEN & COFFEE/CAKE, MEET AND GREET 10.30am to11.00am Bring in your team to fill out your signed application form, listing all team members.

DRAW FROM A HAT: Once applications & indemnity forms are filled out there will be a Straw Poll for Location (draw number from a hat). Morning briefing- Risk identification, Meet the Bridge To Nowhere Arts Association Inc Artists and team members.

$15 PER Scarecrow Frame whether for group or individuals.

Children 14 years and Under, must be accompanied and supervised at all times whilst on the Arts Now Here site in line with Safe Practices for Children legislation, Volunteer employees of BTNArts shall report incidents which they believe necessary under Section 19 of the Act.

11.00AM Gates Close enabling Scarecrow Builders safe access to their site along our beautiful entrance driveway.

What to bring:

  • All your scarecrow bits and pieces to attach to our timber & Metal framework
  • Picnic lunch or buy a sausage from our bbq.
  • It is asked that Builders try for 70% organic where possible.

What can we supply:

  • BTNArts will have some bags of organic fibre for those that need to stuff their heads,etc

AWARD CATEGORIES & announcements:

  1. Most Original
  2. Scary Scarecrow
  3. Funniest – the one that causes a belly laugh
  4. Most Ephemeral, organic, environmentally friendly, compostable
  5. Public Vote

Award 1 – 4 winners will be announced on 8 August and judged by a panel of 5 Artists. The public vote will be announced on 26 August during SALA. Scarecrow Sculptures will be kept on display until 14 October.

COLLECTION: people can arrange to come in to pick up their scarecrow on 13 or14 October or leave them at Warnertown for the public to see and at this time they become the property of BTNArts.

On the application forms we will ask participants to give BTNArts permission to photograph the scarecrows for using in media promotions.

SAFETY AND PROPERTY – Please consider safety when creating and building your scarecrow. Responsible art is all part of the day.

Bridge To Nowhere Arts Association Inc will not be responsible for any damage, vandalism or theft of your Scarecrow Materials or property connected to this event.

THE first day on April 22 will be limited to 10 places.

SCARECROW CHALLENGE – 2 on 8 July, 2023.

Subject to a positive response to the PILOT Scarecrow Challenge – 1,

a second day will occur with a further 15 places released for July 8th, following a positive review of Day 1.
