Magenta & Black Necklace

DESCRIPTION: Double zig zag Kumihimo necklace with metal catch. 

NARRATIVE: Kumihimo braids were woven in silk for the Emperor of Japan. Intricate designs were created for him by his exclusive artisans. Anyone caught copying them was at risk of execution at the Emperor’s decree. The braids tie a kimono at the front. 

Then the Samurai warriors used Kumihimo braids to attach their armour plates. The braids were strong and did not fray.
